Originalmente, MJ escribio esta cancion en 1978 para el album anterior Off The Wall, pero se decidio no ponerlo ahi, y no fue grabado hasta que empezó la producción de Thriller. Es un dato curioso, saber que es la canción más larga de ese disco, durando en la versión original, 6 minutos y 3 segundos.
